Comprehensive Services: Adult Program Services provides community-based day services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including individuals with behavioral support needs. Through hands-on learning, we offer vocational training, daily living skills, communication development, and positive behavior support. Person-Centered Thinking guides staff in tailoring activities to each person’s goals, choices, strengths, and support needs.
Community Integration: We support individuals in becoming active, valued members of their communities. Activities include shopping, using public transportation, volunteering, exploring employment, and participating in recreational and social opportunities. Staff help individuals build practical skills, develop meaningful relationships, and gain confidence while respecting their preferences and pace.
Advocacy: Adult Program Services promotes each person’s rights, dignity, independence, and informed choices. We help individuals express their preferences, participate in Person-Centered Planning, and speak up about their needs. Through collaboration with families, care providers, Regional Centers, and community partners, we support inclusion and uphold Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) principles in everyday services.
Behavior Management: Adult Program Services is a Community-Based and Behavior Management Program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities whose ongoing behavioral challenges affect daily life, relationships, community participation, or employment.
Our approach emphasizes understanding what a behavior communicates and teaching positive, appropriate replacement skills. Staff follow individualized behavior support plans developed by the BCBA, using clear instructions, modeling, practice, and positive reinforcement. For example, individuals may learn to request a break, ask for help, or express frustration safely. Staff respond calmly, recognize triggers, and support each person’s dignity, rights, choices, and safety.
